Looking for research short cuts?
There aren’t a lot of those around. Every successful writer I know says to just forge ahead, faking it until you have time to do real research, and don’t use your precious writing time on research.
But sometimes you just need to know before you go there.
The best site I know of for historical authors is Stephie Smith’s Resources for Writers.

A published historical authors herself, Stephie provides a well-organized, complete list of anything Regency. The links include social, financial, government, historical and literary references. Trust me, it’s a goldmine. It also includes, pirates, Scotland, and American Historical research connections.
